Private Beijing days, personally hosted

Beijing, personally arranged.

Born and raised here, I shape private days around what deserves your time, connecting Beijing's history, spaces, and daily life at a pace that leaves room to notice.

A day with direction, and enough room for Beijing to remain alive.

A meaningful day in Beijing is not the one with the most stops. It is the one that leaves the clearest memory.

Your host in Beijing

Why I created Bespoke Beijing

I know Beijing well enough not to show you all of it.

I grew up here, but familiarity does not always mean understanding. Cultural objects, photography, and years outdoors taught me to notice material, weather, distance, and the details that change how a place feels.

Travelling outside China showed me how easily Beijing can be reduced to a few landmarks. I created Bespoke Beijing to offer enough knowledge to understand the city, and enough restraint to let it remain real.

Meet Lao Wang
01 Knowing the city

When to arrive, when to change direction, and when a famous place is simply not worth the crowd that day.

02 Knowing where to look

A roof color, a worn threshold, a morning market, the position of a gate, or the way an old neighborhood meets a new road.

03 Knowing when to stop

Not every hour needs another destination. Sometimes the right pause becomes the part people remember.

Three ways into Beijing

The destination may be familiar. The way into it should not be.

Each perspective begins with a different way of understanding the city. After I know who is travelling, what interests them, and how much their time should hold, I shape the details around them.

Practical details

What to know before we begin.

Every Bespoke Beijing experience is private, personally designed and hosted by Lao Wang for no more than five guests.

Private Beijing is a full day of up to eight hours for 1–5 guests. It begins at US$349 for one or two guests and includes a private vehicle and driver.

Beyond the Great Wall begins at US$499 for one or two guests for a full private day. Private vehicle, driver, and Lao Wang’s hosting are included; admission, meals, cable car, and other third-party costs are separate.

Beijing, Beyond a Single Day begins at US$899 for one or two guests, including personal arrival and departure hosting, two hosted days, and transport within the final confirmed stay.

The scope and price are discussed clearly before anything is confirmed.

Before the day begins

The choices that change how Beijing feels.

When to go

Light, weather, crowds, traffic, and walking conditions can change the value of a place completely.

What to keep

The day is built around the few things that matter most to the people travelling.

How much is enough

Anything that adds movement without adding meaning is left out.

Moments

Beijing, as I notice it.

From curiosity to a private experience

It begins with attention, not an itinerary.

01

Tell me what matters

Share your dates, travelling party, interests, pace, and what you would rather avoid.

02

I write back personally

I suggest where I would begin, what deserves priority, and what I would leave out.

03

We shape the experience

If the direction feels right, I design and personally host a private experience that fits the people travelling.

Example Design Briefs

What changes when the guest changes.

Three hypothetical guest profiles showing how interests, relationships, walking comfort, and available time lead to different choices in the same city.

01

Two days, mother and teenage daughter

Guest profile
Mother and teenage daughter interested in architecture, photography, and quiet meals. Comfortable walking, without rushing.
Prioritize
Morning light, fewer transitions, places for conversation, and time for the daughter to explore.
Leave out
A second monument added only to fill the day.
Design direction
An imperial morning, a slower neighborhood afternoon, and a calm meal between.
02

One day, first time in Beijing

Guest profile
First visit to Beijing, looking for a meaningful introduction rather than a checklist.
Prioritize
One clear historical spine, intelligent timing, and a meal that creates a natural pause.
Leave out
Covering every famous site in one day.
Design direction
A focused central Beijing day with time to stop, ask, and connect the pieces.
03

A full day at the Wall

Guest profile
Comfort, open space, good visibility, and a walking pace for the whole group.
Prioritize
The forecast, road timing, walking ability, and a section that suits the guests.
Leave out
Choosing a section only because its name is familiar.
Design direction
A Wall section and rhythm chosen around the actual day, with time to stop.
