Design before the day
Using timing, traffic, crowds, weather, walking comfort, and neighborhood rhythm to decide what belongs and what should be left out.
Your host in Beijing
Beijing is home. I personally design and host private days and multi-day stays, using local judgment to decide what deserves your time, what connects the story, and what is better left out.
Why Bespoke Beijing
I was born and raised in Beijing, a city I have spent a lifetime observing but am still learning to understand.
I have spent more than a decade living abroad and have travelled through many different landscapes and cultures. That experience helps me understand both Beijing's history and daily life, and the different habits, expectations, and rhythms international travellers bring to a journey here. As a landscape photographer, I pay attention to light and timing. Years spent studying and collecting cultural objects have taught me to notice material, craftsmanship, age, and use: details that often make a place feel more alive.
I created Bespoke Beijing to share the city through connections: between buildings and objects, history and ordinary life, old systems and the Beijing people live in now. Whether we spend a full day in the city, a full day beyond it, or several days from arrival to departure, I remain the same person designing the direction and hosting the experience.
I do not want to show you more Beijing. I want to help you see it more clearly.
What I bring to your time in Beijing
Using timing, traffic, crowds, weather, walking comfort, and neighborhood rhythm to decide what belongs and what should be left out.
For a multi-day hosted stay, I remain your host throughout while the right specialist may join one focused part when deeper interpretation genuinely adds value.
Connecting the hours or days through one clear direction, while respecting distance, energy, and the fact that not everything needs to be included.
What shaped my approach
Photography
Photography taught me patience, timing, and sensitivity to light. It supports how I observe a place without turning the day into a photo shoot.
Cultural objects
Studying objects taught me to notice material, proportion, craftsmanship, age, and the traces left by use.
Outdoor exploration
Time outdoors taught me to respect terrain, weather, distance, energy, and human limits.
